At the heart of the home, even the simplest gestures can turn into meaningful moments. Like measuring a child’s growth—an everyday ritual that speaks of time, care, and family. This idea is what inspired Eevee, the interactive coat rack designed by students from the Wood Design course at Politecnico di Milano. A project brought to life today through the integration of WiOO technology and the vision of WiDesign. Presented during the Design Week 2025, Eevee is a collaboration with Politecnico-Itis and Artwood Academy, promoters of the project supported by the Design & Furniture Group of Assolombarda.

Eevee is more than just a piece of furniture—it’s a growth companion. Its ash wood structure is designed to adapt to a child’s height and includes adjustable rods that transform the coat rack into an elegant, functional height chart. But it’s through the integration with WiOO and the WiOO-Light app that Eevee becomes truly interactive. Visual signals, fully customizable via the app or button combinations, highlight each marking with color and clarity, allowing different hues to be assigned to different levels. This color change reflects the child’s growth, turning every centimetre gained into a joyful, visible achievement.

Designed to be placed at the entrance, Eevee also features a soft night light that provides safety and comfort without disturbing sleep. It’s a valuable function where lighting becomes not only practical but a key element of the object’s aesthetic: discreet, elegant, never intrusive.

This project perfectly embodies WiDesign’s mission: to bring technology into the home in a way that is harmonious, intelligent, and unobtrusive. Collaborating with the design world—and especially with the new generation of designers—is how we build a smart lifestyle in which every element, even a simple coat rack, can tell a story of innovation, care, and beauty.
